Vietnam was interesting. Our month there was pretty much undercover. This was the first country that we could not openly evangelize to people about Christ. The government has been know to send people to jail or have them deported out the country. So ministry was very much on the down low. We helped out in an HIV clinic praying with patients, and we assisted a church in the northern mountains of Vietnam with there pig farm. It was really fun!
This month I was with Team New Song. These guys are great and we had some amazing times together. This month we did not have much work to do so we had a lot of down time. So it was really nice spending so much time with the team learning and building each other up. We had some great pray times and worship moments during this month. Good stuff!!!
.......and then we get to Africa
At one point I was scared to death of Africa. I would tell my parents when I was younger, "I don't want to be a Christian because God will make me go to Africa."
Yeah, I know all of HEAVEN is laughing now.
I have been listening to one of Kris Vallotton sermons about taking back our inheritance.
"Fear is Faith in the wrong guy" Kris Vallotton
This one statement has really got me thinking about how easy it is for us to take fear over faith. This is a continual battle that we must win as Christians. Well I am sure that we will be tested here in Africa.....
Today I found out that our ministry is located 17 hours of a bus ride north from where we are currently located. So to total this transition of traveling. We had 8 hours from Vietnam to Cambodia. 15 hours from Cambodia to Bangkok, 9 hour flight from Bangkok to Kenya, then a short 3 hours to Ghana. This puts us at. 51 hours of traveling. It was all worth it!!! \
When we arrived at the Ghana airport we were greeted by a bus load of Pastors that have driven hours just to greet us. There smiles and loving hugs made it all worth the trip.
I love this place and i have never felt so comfortable.......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ministry in Cambodia is great. Everyday we drive about 40 minutes away from Phnom Phen into a really small village where we work with some of the locals helping there ministry. We teach English to all ages, travel to orphanages and play with children, we play games at the church, and teach Bible lessons to the kids. The people in Cambodia are extremely warm and welcoming. Every tuk tuk or taxi driver wants to know your name, where you live, why your visiting, when you leave, and if you like Cambodia. "Oh yeah can't forget they always touch your leg or some body part" Every market place they really want our business and will go out there way to serve us. Its really cool!
Well Cambodia is not at all what I expected. This country has been through some very difficult times of war and political corruption and yet the people are so loving and willing to work hard to restore what has been lost!!!
Expectations have a interesting effects on our perspective in any situation. Many times I go into circumstances with a expectation of greatness and things .......well they suck! Other times I believe things will be horrible and a complete disaster, then it turns out to be the most amazing and adventurous time of my life. One thing that we are learning on the race is that God has it all. As a team we are learning to put our expectations on God and His Best for us in any circumstance. That is and should be the only expectation we allow ourselves to think and possess. If He said He has a future for us, then this hope is without disappointment. Let us expect peace, joy, laughter, prosperity, and His presence in every circumstance. I heard a message the other day by T.D. Jake's, he said "Your thinking becomes your reality" So we are working on our thinking and doing our best to focus on what God said He would do.......Now we are learning to live in a place of dreaming!!!!!
Let me tell you about one extremely hard afternoon in Phnom Phen. Well the city is just huge and they're thousands always on the streets driving. One afternoon walking from lunch I saw a little baby walking into the road. You can tell he just learned how to walk and yeah he went into oncoming traffic. The mother????? No where to be found!!!!. There where many vehicles that just missed him. I mean scooters and big trucks just screaming by him. I ran over and pulled him to the side of the road. Breathing heavy and shaking like crazy we both just looked at each other. He had this "who are you and why did you do that.... look on his face" I can only imagine the expression I must have had. Well the kid lives and yeah that's my hero story. Lets not do that again.

So I want to be a world changer!!! I
live in a understanding that all things are possible but I want to
see them manifest in front of my eyes. There is something inside all
of us that reaches out for more, that wants to experience God in a
life changing way. We want to have encounters like Jacob and receive
a new name, or like Moses on the mountain and hear His voice, or even
Paul and have our religion and life completely turned upside down.
This past week I had one of these encounters.....I met my angel!! I
was praying with our squad leaders and I simply started thanking God
for His protection on our team. For whatever reason I felt like
something was going to happen. So I sat there waiting....moments
later I heard his voice. He said, "My name is Shane" to tell you
the truth I laughed. I laughed hard, I could not put my head around
that name. I was expecting some long crazy name that I couldn't say
or something so profound.............. but Shane? I didn't know what
to do......I began to think that I was making this all up in my head
and that it wasn't real. Then again he said, "I'm Shane" then he
walked over to me, bent over and placed his right hand on my left
shoulder. I could only see his hand, arm, and face. He was a metallic
gray and silver color with a crown on his head. As I looked at him he
then placed something in my chest, then pulled out this black human
heart. I asked him what did he put inside of me. He said, "A
Scroll." I then asked what was on the scroll, he said " Your
Future" I then asked what was pulled out of my chest and Shane said
it was Guilt. Amazed and completely astonished, I knew God was
telling me something important about my future and my past. Sometimes
we feel that we have to find our futures and make things happen in
our lives. God has placed everything inside of us and all we need to
learn to do is release it into the world. God has given us talents,
God has given us inventions, and knowledge, and prophetic words,
discerning hearts, and the ability to receive more. We have it! Guys
we really do!!! And we shouldn't feel guilty about anything. We
should never allow our circumstances to become bigger than the cross.
Jesus paid the price, He took our guilt and shame that we should
never deal with it again.
So with this mind, I'm ready for
increase. God give it to me!!!! God give it to us!!!!
I also found out this month that I will
be teamed up with Katie and Weston as the new Squad Leaders.
I'll will be able to give more details
about this new position as time goes on, but for now all I can say is
that its been one of the best things for me yet on the race!!!
Love you guys and thank you for all the
support and pray!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Our team is in Thailand and we spent Christmas in Bangkok which was amazing. It has been such a refreshing feeling to be in this culture. We have taken a few tours around Bangkok and the small villages in the surrounding area and it is truly a beautiful place. I was able to purchase some local artwork for a few families back home..."so I hope you guys like it, cause you cant bring it back and it cost 9,000 Buddha heads to spend." Currently we are assisting a local pastor and his family through children camps and outreaches. We are participating in sports camps, dramas, and yes I'm leading worship now. HAHA
God has really opened up some amazing doors for our team to minister to the local people and it has been very rewarding.
On a serious note....... thank you supports for all your prays and financial blessings during this time of ministry. Together we have blessed a church that doesn't have electricity in the northern mountains of Thailand and they will be soon purchasing new equipment to better serve there village. All this is possible because of you!!!! Thank you.
Life here has been good and we are getting extremely close to the families. They have given me a new name in Thai which means Really happy Man. "Sonti Suk" hahah so yeah it gets really funny when I'm introduced by the pastor to his friends and they fall down laughing or scratch there heads because of my name. well yeah I'm happy!!!

God has power to restore in miraculous ways. He can redeem even the most lost people. Let us tell you about a man who defines God's grace. His name is Benjamin and he has a great need for his ministry in Panajachel, Guatemala. We are inviting you to be a part of this. He now pastors a church named Mi-Reto (Ministry of Total Restoration) and lives his life by complete faith. He serves the community to the extent that he sacrifices all he has to share Jesus with the people around him. He does this not only with words but with his actions. Ben has been building homes, putting in plumbing, wiring electricity, and been an overall handy man for Pana. He has been doing all his projects with broken borrowed tools and transporting everything with a borrowed motorcycle. He carts everything around in wheel barrows which triples the time of each project compared to how easy it would be in the states to do with a truck. Ben would be able to serve his community and reach multitudes of people if he had a truck.
Ben has not always lived a life of sacrifice. The testimony that comes from him is one that has a great impact on anyone who comes in contact with him. It was only 7 years ago that Ben went from a drug and alcohol addicted member of the occult to a radical lover of Jesus. Ben used to own a tattoo shop and a discotech. He was of the verge of suicide when a woman asked him to give God one more chance, and if God didn't come through he could kill himself. With his wife and kids rejecting him, and nowhere to go Ben decided to give God one last chance, but he wanted to prove God wrong. Instead Ben was proven wrong, and his life was radically changed. Ben was immediately freed of his dependency on drugs and alcohol and from that day forward has lived a completely transformed life. Little did he know that God was also doing a work in his wife's life as well. She also gave her life to Christ.
Together they started the ministry Mi-Reto. They give all that they have to serving. They don't even have a steady income. They live month by month, and God has provided for every month for 7 years and will continue to provide for them. All the money that goes into the church goes toward ministry or the church. They do not take any salary out of the church. This family is changing not only the community that they live in but the people that they come in contact with.
They have made a great impact on our lives over the month that we were there. They are family that we will never forget. While there we saw the need for the truck and what a blessing it would be to Ben's ministry. It takes Ben at least a year to pay for a power tool, imagine what a truck would be for him. Even though we can't be there we know God is changing lives through Ben. We hope that you consider being a part of this ministry and reaching out to the people that are making a difference.
A truck would bring:
-a way to transport materials
-a way to move families into new homes
- a way to transport missions teams
- a way to get to the city (Ben is trying to get his
residency and has to make trips to the city)
- a service that may not be provided otherwise
- a symbol of God's provision

Pura Vida!!! This phrase is the most popular phrase in Costa Rica. It simply means the best and pure life is the way. Everywhere we go people call out to each other pura vida. It's a life of no worries, trusting that things work out, and living a full life never holding back. It's a really cool phrase that people here have truly adopted.
Well work here in Carpio has been full of increase. Every morning for the last few days our group has been helping with grass cutting, kindergarten classes, and women bible studies. It has been very rewarding to see our relationships grow with the children and young adults. They are so eager to engage and communicate with us and its good to see that God always makes a way!!
During the week God spoke a very clear word to me about receiving more anointing. His challenge was that I wouldn't receive more until I learned to release the anointing He has already given me. It's funny because God knows our hearts desires and He always "remember always" has our best interest at hand. This week I started a Bible study with our team. IT WAS CRAZY FUN. It felt so good to share my heart with them. I shared on Gen chapters 1-3. Its all about God's desires for our lives to prosper and be fruitful. God gave us dominion which simply means giving us the right to rule this earth as His children. We are to be His ambassadors, governors, and influence to the world. Well I had fun. There is just something about speaking the word and bringing revelation that makes my heart pumped.

It felt
like an eternity to get to Costa Rica....... a long and boring eternity. We left
LaCama Wed. the 4th and we traveled on a big charter bus until Tues.
the 10th. We stopped and rested in Guatemala City, San
Salvador, Managua and a few other
places. It was a 8 to 12 hour drive each day to the next destination which was
all in the rain. The last few days our bodies became really uncomfortable and
upset. I think I had bus lag cause all I wanted to do was sleep when we got to
Carpio????? Driving through Costa Rica was not as awesome as I thought, we
where hit with a lot of storms on the drive and couldn't see much at all, but
when the rain finally stopped we saw the most beautiful topical country I ever
seen. This place is so beautiful!!!! Mountains, rivers, amazing weather,
friendly people, what more could you want. Hahahah we are staying in the dumps
of San Jose and I mean the dumps "like a land fill" and its so beautiful. We
have enormous trucks that pass everyday with more and more trash from the city
and dump it just down the hill from us and its still that pretty of a view.
Every night our team spends time taking pictures of the late afternoon sky
which is this beautiful pink and blue color. Well enough about that..... Our
mission here in Carpio is pretty busy. We are staying at New Horizons which is
a mission department that also is involved with a school, hospital, and several
church's in the area. Carpio is the poorest area outside of San Jose. This area
has a very bad reputation and it really holds true to all the stories. Just
yesterday Sean and I where coming back from the city and the bus we were
traveling on had three fresh bullet holes on the side of it, locals said " for
no reason it‘s Carpio". They estimate that 80% of the children here have been
involved in some sort of sexual abuse. Many children get as far as 6th
grade and then drop out or their families can't afford the schooling. 99% of the population here in
Carpio is Nicaraguan natives that have moved to find work in San Jose. It's
very difficult for them because they do not have the right paper work or to be
in the country so finding a good paying job is near impossible.
So everyday New Horizons opens
up and allows children to come and play. If the children had the opportunity
they would live at New Horizon......" WHY" ....because here its safe, here no one
touches them, no one forces them to do things they don't want, here they hear how much God loves them,
here they can truly understand what that love is like. Friday I met my first
Mother-Sister. This particular girl was rapped by her father and had a
child. To much surprise the staff said
this is a popular occurrence in Carpio. The staff said that when she first came
to New Horizon she was a mess. Who could blame her!!! They said that she hated
her daughter because of the memories it brought back. The staff here took her
in and you should see her now. The young girl and her daughter walk around as the
cutest couple ever. Her daughter is 4 and she as the boldest little thing you
will ever meet. The mother knows Christ and is helping other women through her
story. God always has a way of turning our darkest times into an testimony of
His love and strength in our lives.
All this week we have been
cutting grass mostly with machetes. Our afternoons are spent with the kids
playing and whatever else they are doing, which is mainly soccer. What a
surprise!! We have been having the best worship services during the day. God is
really speaking to us in new ways and really calling us to new levels of
greatness. Sean....our squad leader is with us this month and he has truly been a
blessing to have around. This man of God has such an anointing on his life. He
is someone that truly loves and his heart is for our team to grow and mature in
Christ. We are so glade that he is with us this month, its just great, we learn
so much through his life story and all the things God has done for him. Its
really sweet. The following weeks we will be assisting in women's groups,
kindergarten classes, English classes, bible studies, and physical work around
New Horizon. Things are going great and we are really excited for this month
and all the things God will use us to do. With the money raised for this
mission trip I was about to purchase some sounds equipment for a local school
and church. I was also able to show a few of the men how to work their sound
board. So thanks Danny, Cory, and Troy for all the sound education you guys have
given me. Just know that your labor is now impacting a community in Costa
Rica!!!! God is amazing!
Miss
everyone back home.........family, church, supporters. Thank you so much for your
prays!

This week the work load has been slowly regressing and we have been spending more time with this wonderful family. This Tuesday we held a service for the church and the community which was just amazing. The pastor allowed us to play in the church for the first time; so we rented some music equipment and prepared some short messages for the church congregation. It was AMAZING! We played a few songs and gave testimonies in-between songs. It was really nice to bless them other than with construction work. We had Lindsey on piano, Becka on vocals, Tim on guitar, me on bass, Jordan on drums, and another Jordan from the other team on vocals. It was fun. Its been a long time since I played and its funny how God always gives you your passions..... After we did our thing......hahahah we didn't know but they had a band that was playing too. They had the coolest style ever. It was this Caribbean and Salsa mix of music that made everyone just want to jump around. After they played they wanted us to share a word.....we thought we were finished for the night but they wanted more. Elisabeth said she had something to share but was unsure if it would take up all the time they gave us. It was said earlier that the community didn't have much to give us and that they wish they could do more for us during our stay. I thought it was amazing that I was studying a particular story that pertained to there comment. 1Kings 17. It's a story on Elijah. During this time Elijah comes across this women getting water for herself and her son. Elijah ask her to prepare something for him to eat, and she said her and her son have nothing but this small bread and after its gone they will die. Elijah tells the women not to worry but to go and prepare what he ask. She did the task and the story goes on to say that the oil never ran out and neither did the bread. I explained to the people that it isn't how much they give, but there heart in giving. God knows the sacrifice it takes and He also knows the blessing that will return to the giver. That night I was given an opportunity to speak over the people. I prayed the pray of faith and blessed the families, the church, and the community. It was amazing. I prayed that God would bless them like He did that women and never allow things to run out for their families. I declared health, joy, prosperity, vision, peace, and the manifest presences of God in their community. I ended the pray with a shout knowing that God will do an amazing work in the city. Leaving this Wednesday was not easy. My heart is for these people and the new work they are starting in LaCama. I plan on taking another trip here and partnering with Pastor Carlos in San Lucas for more mission opportunities through our church. There is a great work that has begun here and I want "in" on the action.

These are the life lessons of the week.......Take them seriously!!!!!
1. Team pictures in a tree are NEVER a good idea!
My teammate Lindsay took a ten foot fall, and some how landed straight on Tim. It looked like synchronized diving from my point of view. To top it off, after Lindsay got off of Tim he yelled, "I Saved Her!"
2. I have found the best way to work on your vertical is to not be paying attention when you open the curtain to the outhouse.
Sometimes chickens are in there, and when the curtain is moved they dart right out between your legs.
3. Never believe someone when they say they have a piñata for you.
Our Teammate Elizabeth had a birthday yesterday. We did a bunch of stuff to celebrate, but the best part was when we blindfolded her at the house. We then helped her walk to the middle of town to this cement parking lot area, and had her start swinging at this piñata that didn't exist. (THE VIDEO IS HILARIOUS!) After a couple minutes we all left and watched her from a distance when she finally realized there was no piñata and started to run after us....SHE BIT IT! She now knows tip number 4.
4. Remove a blindfold before you run.
Elisabeth ran right into a small hill which took her out. I mean out!!!
5. Niagara Falls is a possible consequence.
Pastor has a tarp set up over our eating area and part of his roof (why its on top of the roof I have no idea). Well last night we had a extreme rain storm and the tarp began to fill with water. We heard some popping and ran outside. The tarp was collapsing the roof so Jory went out and sliced it with a knife..........We then experienced the Niagara falls outside the house as well as inside! Opps
6. Fleas are in! 5 of us have flea bites and they're AWESOME! Be jealous!
We have wicked awesome red dots all over our backs and arms. You want them, trust me.
7. A DO NOT DISTURB sign is a must needed commodity.
Some people are getting a little too close in the bathroom area. I say area because sometimes you just have to go outside!
8. GO BIG or GO HOME!
While the Guat's stay close to shore or literally on the beach, the crazy Americans go 60-80 yards out! We couldn't touch the bottom, I personally felt like shark bait. We were attempting to body surf on 8ft and 9ft waves, and it was so fun.
